  Southern Muslims to pay N4.9m for 2024 hajj The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has fixed the final fare prices for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage exercise. The commission had earlier in October, pegged the initial fare deposit at N4.5m, noting that the fixed amount was “in tandem with the dollar rate that will determine the final cost of the coming Hajj”, and that the amount would give the commission a more realistic figure in bargaining for the cost of accommodation, airline fares, feeding, and other necessities.   YouTube deletes Emmanuel TV channel of disgraced megachurch leader YouTube has terminated the official channel of disgraced Nigerian televangelist TB Joshua's megachurch for violating its hate speech policies. It comes weeks after an investigation by the BBC and openDemocracy uncovered evidence of widespread sexual abuse and torture by the late preacher. Emmanuel TV played a key role in his rise from local pastor to global star. TB Joshua died in 2021, but his Synagogue Church of All Nations (Scoan) is now run by his wife Evelyn Joshua. The church has not commented on the removal, but has said previous allegations of wrongdoing have been "unfounded". The Household of David church in Surulere Street, Adeniyi Jones in the Ikeja Local Government Area of Lagos State has lost its multi-million naira church auditorium to a fire incident that gutted the church building. PUNCH Metro gathered that the incident occurred at about 10:00 am on Wednesday. Confirming the incident to our correspondent in a phone interview, the Lagos State Fire Service spokesperson, Amodu Shakiri, disclosed that the church’s auditorium ceiling was overheating, which caused it to collapse and ignite a fire. He added that the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service’s Alausa and Ikeja Fire Stations, LASAMBUS, LASEMA, and Red Cross were the relevant agencies present at the scene.   We have uncovered a religious sect laundering money for terrorists – EFCC Chairman. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Nigeria has reportedly uncovered instances of money laundering involving religious sects and bodies, the Commission’s Chairman, Ola Olukoyede has disclosed. According to Olukoyede, the anti-graft agency found evidence of a religious sect in Nigeria being involved in laundering money for terrorists. Another religious organization was also implicated for protecting a money launderer when funds, suspected of being laundered, were traced to its bank account. In the course of investigating a N13 billion fraud case, the EFCC discovered that N7 billion of the total amount was linked to a religious body’s bank account. A statement issued in Osogbo on Thursday, signed by the command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, said the two men agreed to allow peace reign during the festival at a meeting held at the instance of the CP. Members of the Kamaudeen Mosque and the followers of Esuleke masquerade had a history of dangerous clashes, the last one being the bloody fight of Sunday, June 27, 2021, which led to the death of a member of the mosque, while nine others were injured. Ondo pastor jailed for stealing Presiding pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Ona Iwa-Mimo, Iwaro Oka Akoko in Ondo State, Friday Okeneji, has been sentenced to two years imprisonment by an Akure Magistrate’s Court for stealing chemicals worth N130,000. Okeneji was said to have committed the offence on July 2, at Iwaro Oka Akoko. He pleaded guilty to the two count charges preferred against him. Okeneji said he committed the offence for survival, adding that he had to pay N150,000 for his mother’s  burial slated for August.  Presiding Magistrate, Damilola Sekoni, found Okeneji guilty and said that the prison term would run concurrently.
