Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has said that the local government election will be held shortly in the state.

Speaking while assenting to the Local Government Amendment Bill at the Government House, Ilorin, AbdulRazaq said, “We are looking forward to holding the local government elections very shortly.”

In a statement signed by Rafiu Ajakaye, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor late Friday, AbdulRazaq thanked the State House of Assembly for its legislative roles on the Local Government Elections Bill, which he noted now paves the way for the conduct of the elections.

The local government election was held last in the state in October 2017.
